Legendary blues rocker, Gregg Allman, packed out Chicago’s House of Blues for his two-night run in the city.

Despite being filled to capacity, the venue fell silent as Amanda Shires‘ angelic voice filled the room. Taking the stage by herself, with nothing but her beautiful voice, the whole of Chicago’s House of Blues stood captivated. Amanda was later joined by her double bassist, Stephy, and together they wowed the crowd with their simple yet effective set.

The fans of Gregg Allman were out in force for his second show of the week. Starting out behind his Hammond organ at the side of the stage, he let his seven-piece band take the spotlight as they played through his hits. Starting off with “Statesboro Blues,” they covered the favorites, such as “Midnight Rider” and the “Whipping Post.”

Allman is currently on tour throughout the US, with a few additional European dates thrown in, until October.
