Artists from Ottawa to British Columbia will be honored at the 19th annual Maple Blues Awards on January 18.
The Toronto Blues Society established the Maple Blues Awards not only to honor outstanding musicians but also preserve and promote blues throughout Canada. It is no wonder the non-profit organization chose the Royal Conservatory of Music as the location of the awards ceremony. The venue has been home to hundreds of live performances and host to countless charity events. The Toronto Blues Society has found the perfect match for the ceremony in both theme and mission.
Including the B.B. King International Artist of the Year and New Artist or Group of the Year awards, The Maple Blues Awards cater to blues fans and musicians new, old, national, and international.
Eighty-seven nominees made their way into the fifteen categories including several first-timers. Blues fans can vote for their favorite musicians at www.mapleblues.ca and purchase tickets through the Weston Family Box Office or online.
